Nice, honest example of a later SA Honor dagger. While the early damascus type is certainly prettier, this plain blade RZM version is actually far scarcer as Victor Lutze was well known to give these only to high ranking and notable personalities while Ernst Rohm was quite liberal in giving out Honor Daggers. A very impressive piece. Eagle trophy presentation reads: "Our esteemed company commander SS Haupsturmfuhrer Zahn in memory of the 4th (MG) Company of the 8th SS TK Regiment, Lublin on January 30, 1941". This rank is basically equivalent to a captain which is right in line with being a company commander. Apparantly this fellow was the commander of a machine gun of the 8 SS Totenkopf regiment...

This incredible scrimshaw walrus tusk is one large example. Straight from tip to tip it measures just under 23 inches and a cool 61 ounces, while what is usually found is about half that size. Condition is perfect throughout with only the age lining that is always found in older tusks. This comes from it drying over the decades/centuries and is unavoidable in older pieces. None of these lines are split open...

This is certainly one of those "wow" items. Original "HJ Wache des Gauleiters" or Hitler Youth Gauleiter Security Service cuff title. A bit rumpled towards the ends but that is because I am a purist and don't alter anything in the least. The fabric throughout is perfect, fresh and undamaged. Very nice chained NSKK. Blade is generally in terrific shape with cross graining in evidence throughout. There are the usual scuffs and very light in-out marks but overal a pleasing blade. There is a spot right around the RZM code. Plating is good throughout crossguards and wood handle is nice with no significant damage to speak of. There is one tiny flake lifted on the motto side. The scabbard is a nice match in condition. the ball is undamaged...

Top notch example of a very large Islamic sword with Mughal influences. 93cm from end to end and weighs out at a hair under 3.5 pounds. The handle by itself is 22cm from tip to end of langet. This lovely, unique Civil War relic is out of my collection. Carved by a confedrate veteran in remembrance of the battle of First Bull Run, this pipe has every spare piece of space carved with something clever. The pipe bowl is in the shape of a bull's head with the underlined word "RUN" right between his eyes. Above this is a soaring eagle. Interesting SS dagger by F.A. Helbig. As a transitional it also has the RZM code 1163/38SS which are the correct marks for this dagger. The negatives begin and end with the spotting on the blade. The blade is still buttery smooth with no pitting but the mid section on each side shows the freckly mottling that indicates the blade was kept in a humid place too long.
