Here is a great item for the guy who understands the importance of this unit. We recently bought a collection and this belonged to the owner. He was sent to Europe right after the war and the unit was interrogating Nazis and gauging political climate and ramifications in post war Europe. This collection was really full of unique and interesting items rarely encountered, but this plaque was actually from his unit in the 1107th ARASU. I know two things about this unit...

Very scarce 1930's German communist pin. This was given out at the 1931 Soldaritatstag (Translation is obvious) which I assume was a big communist kumbaya fest. Very rare to find pre-war German communist items as these would likely be a death sentence during the Nazi regime. The IAH was Internationale Arbeiter-Hilfe and was, in fact, abolished in 1933. This was in a small grouping recently found and I don't actually recall seeing any others. Neat.

Beautiful example of a classic badge. This example has a simply lovely chocolate patina throughout with original pin on the reverse. This badge was given to those who attended this famous rally in 1933. The importance of this rally was soon recognized and this badge became an officially recognized medal which could be worn on uniform. A must for any serious Third Reich collection.

The 1936 Berlin Olympics were a landmark event of the century. Hitler and a rebuilt Germany was being showcased for the world to see and admire. It was a magnificent demonstration and the death and destruction of the war was only three short years later. These very interesting booklets are from 5 different events; Gymnastics, handball, boxing, jumping and football. I think it is hilarious that they made a mistake and titled the soccer book "Football". Yes, that was a joke...

Very cool, very large horn. This is a German hunting trophy with textbook Bavarian edelweiss motif. The inscription reads "Gewidmet v. d. beiden Revisoren Hans Fischer w. Clement Hakerl" or something like "Dedicate to the two Auditors Hans Fischer and Clement Hakerl. Translations are funny but I believe these fellows were probably more like game wardens then auditors. At any rate, it is a beautiful horn with nice, flowing dedication...
