Very nice Social Welfare leader dagger. The only difference with Red Cross leader dagger is the circular holes for the hangers. The only negative is a hairline crack in the grip. There is no wobble at the point of the crack and no missing material. The crack is also old enough to have age darkened (See images). Some very minor spotting to the blade and only a couple of tiny rubs to the finish of the scabbard. Blade is nice and bright with no sharpening. Some gentle spotting as per images...

Very nice Kriegsmarine coastal artillery overseas cap. The fabric in the back is a different color from the front. I believe this is an interesting example of a lot that was contracted to a French manufacturer. The French, irritated at being an occupied country, made all the caps in the smallest size possible. Since most of the Germans were not twelve year olds the caps had to be resized. Maker marked B.A.W. with a couple of size markings, the latest of which looks to be 58...

It makes me feel old to call 1980's vintage but I think it works with this one which just off the chart on the Richter Scale of coolness. The jacket is typical 80's Levi and the entire thing is covered in superb artwork, patches and pins. Just as proof that our man here was well rounded the right sleeve has a long Metallica patch and the left side of the back has three smaller patches. Everything else is all K.I.S.S. and the hand done portrait work on the back is fabulous (Image 2)...

Nice leather belt for army, Luftwaffe etc. Nice big size at 105. Well used but nothing is broken and leather is soft and healthy and looks to have plenty of life left. Soldier's name is written in and reads "K Hesse".

Respectable aluminum army belt and buckle. Buckle is in good shape except under the roll bar where it looks like a maker name was rubbed off. No idea why someone would do it but it is not too disfiguring. The buckle has no tab and I doubt it ever did since the belt does have an oval maker logo which has the date 1938 but I can not make out the firm name. The belt leather is a size 98. Just beside the size marking is the soldier's name which looks like "Holzer"...

Excellent WWII German army sword knot. The leather strap is strong but soft and supple. The acorn ball has the correct green and silver top, Twisted aluminum wire on the bottom and the correct tip with green fabric interwoven by six rows of aluminum wire. All topped off with a very pleasant red-brown leather slide. Really nice knot and the cheap way to make that great sword in your closet looked twice as nice.

Absolutely gorgeous L59 screw back Iron Cross First Class. L59 indicates it was made by Alois Rettenmeyer. The silver is clean and crisp with no damage and no polishing to have taken away the gentle age patina that makes this one so attractive. The black core shows no finish damage either and has a gentle halo along the border with the beaded silver. The reverse shows the L59 above the screw post and the proper X below...

The GAR (Grand Army of the Republic) was the Civil War Union veteran organization. A sword like this could be purchased by a member vet who was very proud of his service or had extra money (Or both). The blade engraving is very elaborate. On one side is a portrait engraving of Abraham Lincoln. Below that is the obligatory stand of arms which is well executed with cannon, drums, sabers, flags, bugle, many pole arms and even a liberty cap atop the highest pole-arm...

Very nice looking King's Crown patch also known as an Imperial Crown or Tudor Crown. I am not well versed with British insignia but this does look WWI to me. Attractive patch constructed very much like bullion insignia but in soft, neutral browns. There is a small nip above the left fleur. The research I put into this indicates this was rank insignia for Warrant Officer in Australia or Squadron Corporal Major, Company Sergeant Major etc in the British Army. Nice patch.

Good looking original SS eagle with strong original silver wash to the front with some rubbing mostly on the top of the wings (Just where we would expect it). The tarnished reverse shows us that it is unfortunately missing one post. It is correctly RZM marked but after the M I can't make out the /number.

Nice cockade for Luftschutz visor cap. Nice, even silver wash to the wreath with very gentle rub wear to the high relief of the oak leaves. Red felt center is complete. Multiple piece construction with pleasant, even patina on reverse indicating all pieces have been together as a unit for the duration. Nice example of a difficult piece of insignia to find.

Very cool pair of Waffen SS Cavalry or Motorized Reconnaissance shoulder boards. These were used and tunic removed the hard way; Ripped off at the top. There is some nipping that is hard to photograph as the fabric is still black on black but the last photo shows the worst spots on each piece. The nips on the back are easier to discern and are shown in image two. Basically an extremely interesting pair of shoulder straps with damage from field use and some mothing.

Very interesting Imperial German regimental stein. This is an early one as the engraved inscription inside the lid is dated 1891. The engraving has the initials A.F. R.B. and is in memory of the fellow's service (I can't quite make out the exact words) and the date M. 21.6.91 (June 26, 1891. The ceramic bottom of the shell is made in the shape of an actual artillery shell and the top finial is in the shape of the fuse. The thumb push is a flaming bomb, also representative of the artillery servic...

Lovely antique regimental stein from a terrific regiment. Written across the top: 1. Inft Rgt "Konig"s 2. Comp 99/1901 Munchen. The 1st Bavarian Infantry Regiment was formed during the Napoleonic Wars and predictably part of the First Bavarian Infantry Division in WWI where it served with distinction. Stein is in great condition with no damage that I find. Correct lithophane in the bottom when held to light. Terrific stein.

This is a lovely little set. A pitcher for iced tea, lemonade or whatever and two matching cups with 5th army crests on each piece. The pitcher is about 9.5 inches tall and the cups are about 4.5 inches tall. A local fellow had enlisted and ended up fighting in Italy. The souvenirs he brought home were this pitcher set and his lovely Italian wife. He passed away a year or so ago and she decided she was also getting old and it was time to part with old memories after many decades of happiness. Si...

Super cool medal given to spectators at the 1912 Air Show in Berlin. Students of history will note 1912 as a very early date when airplanes were hardly thought of in military terms. This was 2 years before WWI and only 9 years after the Wright brothers first flight. I think that anything flight related before WWI is supremely interesting. Very cool medal.

Very cool steel army buckle with leather tab. This one has a lot of the field grey paint remaining but enough worn to give it a great combat look. What is also cool is that the buckle and tab are perfect matches with the buckle being marked N&H 1942 and the tab marked NOELLE & HUECK LUDENSCHEID 1942. The leather is in great shape as well as per photos.

Shockingly perfect WWI German boot knife. Blade does have a few stray scratches from in-out action over the decades but is certainly the mintiest example I have seen. As per photos metal is as healthy as if it were made yesterday. Every angle is crisp and sharp. Ricasso is marked RASIERMESSER FABRIK ERN WALD RHEINL. This company made razors but clearly put their know how to good use after 1914. Blade also sports a nice crisp arsenal stamp. Much of the paint is worn from the crossguard. The handl...
