Interesting dog tag with what looks like some sort of battle damage. Must have been unpleasant for the fellow wearing it at the time. Probably 8th battery 161 Artillery regiment with 178 being the soldiers number. Interesting piece.

Very nice pair of 18 pounder shell casings showing very nicely done portraits of a French officer and wife (?). The piece with the officer has a banner at the bottom reading SOUVENIR DELA GUERRE 1914. The bottom has many different markings but probably most significantly is dated 1917, marked as an 18 pounder and marked by the firm P.B&Co. The casing with the young lady reads SOUVINIR DELA GUERRE 1918, is also marked as an 18 pounder but dated 1916 and made by ALCO. Each is just under 12 inches ...

Very interesting and unique desktop Hitler Youth miniature flag and pole. Triangular HJ pennant measures about 9x9x7 inches. Attached are 5 little rings which attach to five slightly larger (But still tiny) rings on the pole. The pole is about5 23.5 inches high. The metal looks to be a nicely patinated tin. The base is bottom marked O.H. LAGERSTEDT A.-B. ESKILSTUNA. The pole was definitely made specifically as a miniature flag pole with an unmistakable finial and the two split posts towards the ...

Historically significant mug from the 1953 Korean Armistice Agreement talks held in the abandoned Korean village of Panmunjom. United Nations met with North Korean and Chinese officials here to iron out a cease fire agreement. The cup has the seal of the United Nations Command Armistice Commission below which is impressed JSA PAN MUN JOM KOREA. JSA remains the Joint Security Area and remains the only place where North Korean and UN forces coexist and as one might imagine has been the scene of mu...

This is a very cool and very rare summer weight sleeve eagle with the Saarbrücken city name. Unfortunately there is a spot of damage at the 10 o'clock edge position. Priced accordingly; Rare patch.

Nice single decal transitional helmet. Very typical signs of period use with decent amount of WWII green overpaint. Wear to decal matches the rest of the helmet well. Chinstrap has been repaired as shown in last photo. Soldier's name is written on liner. I can't make it out but it does look like nice, old style script. No markings visible due to surface wear on paint. Somewhere along the way a previous owner gave it a clear coat to prevent further loss of paint. Probably not the greatest idea bu...

Absolutely top notch NCO visor cap by a top notch maker. The shape is solid, the fabric is flawless. The only three points that I can consider even minor condition points condition are on the last three attached images; two small tears on the sweatband and a spot on the undercoating of the visor where finger contact has rubbed the tan finish a bit thin. Pekuros is a high end maker and their "Stirndruckfrei" advertises a nice snug fit. A cap that would fit in the most advanced collection.

This piece I believe to be a hagi-yaki mizuzashi. The glaze color and incised decoration shows a strong Korean influence owed to the Korean pottery tradition brought to Japan during the early 17th century occupation of Korea by the forces of Toyotomi Hideyoshi. The big (?) handles and knop (?) top are design elements often seen on chirashi. This particular form, however, does appear to be a mizuzashi (Water vessel used in the Tea Ceremony). The speckled, coarse body looks like Hagi clay. After s...

Nice German trench art type sweetheart bracelet featuring 1914 Iron Cross. Bracelet is made out of a piece of a shell casing but well made with a hinge crisply working catch. Perhaps best of all is the catch plate which bears the engraving: S/L. SCHWESTER ZUR ERINNERUNG AN DEN FELDZUG 1914/15 HERBERT HEINMUTH which basically says this is a present for his sister commemorating the campaign of 1914 to 1915. Early on when war still seemed glorious and the young men were still innocent. Lovely piece...

Very interesting paperweight that a lieutenant or one of his family members had made to celebrate his winning of the Iron Cross First Class. The EK1 was, of course, a prestigious valor award and earning this medal would likely be a highlight in a soldier's life. The bulk of this paperweight is the clear plastic composite in which we often see old coins or similar mementos suspended. On the bottom is what appears to be the newspaper announcement of the award given to Leutnant d. Res (Lieutenant o...

Very tastefully executed katana tsuba showing a Dragon in the Clouds motif. Attractive dragon with very fine detail contrasts very nicely with the plain surface of the majority of the tsuba. The front shows the dragon's head, one leg and tail. The reverse shows just one small body segment and about an inch away from that just two toes, supporting the idea the sometimes less is more. Large size measures 8.5cm from top to bottom, 8.0cm from left to right, about 4.5mm thick and weighs just about 5....

Very cool document with signatures from both Benito Mussolini and Victor Emmanuel III who of course was the King of Italy before and during the war. The letterhead to the document also adds the title IMPERATORE D'ETIOPIA as the Italians were very proud of this conquest as they began to flex their muscles in the colonial arena. Another point of interest are the stamps on the reverse. Both include the year date 1938 but the Fascists also started counting years again from the March On Rome. The XVI...

Very nice 40 year faithful service for civil service. Condition is excellent throughout. One side of the pin has a popped stitch. This is an easy fix if someone wants to do it but medal displays well as is. Nice example.

Attractive American M1912 officer's cap. Nice clean cap with with good shape and a nice, period used look. Beside the wearer's left ear is a stretch of about 3 inches where the stitching is missing along the sweatband. This is not noticeable unless pulled at because the cap keeps its shape very crisply (Image 7). The maker logo in the silk lining is blurred and not readable (Image 4). Also, from left to right along the lining and just under the logo is some separation from solid use (Image 5). U...

First Class Eastern People award in silver with original hinged award box. Both the medal and the impressed likeness on the top of the box are the variant without swords which are a good bit scarcer then the combatant version with swords. Condition is solid throughout as per images and the silver wash on the obverse of the medal remains solid. The back of the hinged pin is hallmarked 100 for the firm Rudolf Wachtler, Mittweida. Nice, hard to find cased medal.

Nice Feuerschutzpolizei helmet with leather neck guard for fire fighting duties. Very nice decals to both sides. This is an attic find so it does show many years of age but still a self respecting helmet. Very light surface oxidation almost looks like foxing throughout. The double buckle chinstrap is fixed in place even though one end is shortened down to where it is fixed to the buckle. The size 54 liner is complete and undamaged with darkening across the brow probably from period use and wear....

Absolutely gorgeous stickpin for the 1939 Spange and 1914 Iron Cross First Class. This is a rare enough stickpin but this is the best example I've encountered. Large size with the cross and spange measuring a hair over 2.6cm. With the pin it measures just short of 6cm. If not silver it is a high quality nickel silver with superb beading and crispness to the smallest details. To ice a fabulous stickpin the profile of the Iron Cross shows a lovely convex curve. This was made for a guy who had a ve...

Very nice RADwj pennant. Unstretched it is 115cm high not including the loops and a bit over 200cm in edge length. I find no holes beyond the signs of typical use at the very tip which can be seen in image 4. Also on this fourth image can be seen the reinforcing stitching typical of period pieces. The only stain I find is along the bottom edge and can be seen in image 5. On the red field this stain is very hard to see. Otherwise the flag is top condition with nice, bright colors and the white ce...

Terrific, untouched NSDAP Political Officer uniform including service tunic and riding style breeches. Blue piping on tunic indicates Ortsgruppe level and the four pips indicate rank of Gemeinschaftsleiter. Size below the back collar is 49. Inside interior pocket can be found the correct RZM label for "DIENSTROCK W fur Politische Leiter". Very cool set out of the woodwork. Excellent NSDAP Political Officer belt buckle backmarked RZM M4/27 for the firm Overhoff and Cie. The leather on the belt is crisp and clean with a remnant of the paper label on the reverse. Just beside the tongue is penciled in the owner's name but not clearly enough for me to venture a guess. Tongue is size marked 90. Leather is also RZM marked towards the keeper end. While the belt is an excellent example the real interesting part here is the attached holste...

Terrific NSDAP standard bearer gorget. The front plate is undamaged and the patina looks to me as though it has never been cleaned. On the reverse the original green felt is complete and shows one TINY moth nip on the back (See images). The chain is a real treat as it is complete with the correct 31 links and the patina is even throughout indicating that this chain has most likely been together since the war. Further, the reverse of the plate is marked M1/102 as well as the end link on both side...

Super cool Sanke WWI postcard features 12 different Blue Max award winners. These Sanke postcards are very sought after which makes sense because they all look great. The bottom left corner does have a small crease but this becomes understandable when we flip it over and see that is was mailed to a feldpost in July 1917 and was fully used. Earlier postcard includes Boelcke and Immelmann but does not yet show Richthofen in the top group. Postcard is really beyond cool.

Fabulous reference book covering just about every uniform from Fascist Italy during the war, starting with the 1926 Fascist March On Rome. Shocking number of color plates showing military, political, youth, female auxiliary and on and on. Catalog excerpts, detailed text, innumerable photographs and well over 100 color examples of uniforms in wear as well as page after page of various insignia, some of which are quite obscure. This is a fabulous book for anyone interested in WWII Italian uniforms...

As collectors we know there are many Japanese military sake cups out there. And even trays for military sake sets. Far scarcer are military sake cup holders. This is the second I have had. Measuring about 9x8cm this holder is presented in the shape of an unfurled Japanese war flag with strong paint and only one short, light scratch in one of the red rays. The reverse has four kanji characters that are not clear enough to read. In the circle is the maker logo reading "Mikiyama". Stamped in ink is...

Absolutely gorgeous gold wound badge back marked 65 for the firm Klein & Quenzer. The badge itself is about as god as it comes with the front showing a stone cold 100% gold gilt finish. There are a couple of spots on the back where the finish is not absolutely perfect (Sorry) and these are separated by the pin as we would expect from normal rubs. But the back finish is easily better then 90%. Pin assembly is perfect and the 65 is crisp and raised. You could look for a long time and likely not fi...

Really a very, very cool Egyptian general's visor cap. There are one or two other examples online that are far fancier but without doubt far later. I have handled many WWII visor caps from various nations and this is very close in both materials used and method of construction. In my best educated opinion I would put this in the 1950's if not to the 1948 war with Israel. Elaborate front cap badge with Egyptian eagle is made of a pleasantly toned bullion is an exact match in style and material wi...

RAD athltic sport shirt with scarcer smaller patch. Very clean example in a large size. the size tag on reverse collar is unfortunately gone except for one remaining thread. There is also one very small hole about 2.5 inches below and to the right of the RAD patch. Nice steel army belt buckle and tab from a maker not often found. I have always liked this maker logo as it is crisp and interesting. MSS 40 with the letters in a shield are the letters and 40 (For 1940 manufacture) to the right of that. MSS Stands for Math. Salcher & Sohne Jablunkau. The leather tab has an oval maker logo with this firm's name and the same date 1940 in the center. The leather is soft, healthy and undamaged with a nice rich brown color. Stitching is likewise in great shape. All ...

Nice, solid steel beaded Luftschutz helmet. I use a heavy flash to make all negatives show clearly. the first attached image (No flash) is most accurate to appearance in ambient lighting. These heavier examples are generally associated with more front line use that the usual gladiator style. This one has all original finish and the decal is in absolutely great shape. There is significant wear and oxidation to the crown, right where front line fellows would flip them over to sit on. Other typical...

Superb 50 x 85 cm WWII German battle flag. This is the smallest size and perfect for display. Because these are the ultimate display size they tend to not often come available so it is nice to see such a solid example. Crisp, clean and no holes. The only condition issue is a pulled thread through the center disc which can be seen on the final image. Otherwise perfect example of a desirable flag.

Very nice aluminum DAF belt buckle marked M4/44 for the firm Paul Cramer & Co, Lüdenscheid. Front of the buckle shows most factory finish with only a few nicks to the edge.
