Nice tinnie from the German colonies organization. Reichskolonialtagung, Bremen 1938. Could not have been a very large organization as Germany had no colonies that I know of. Interesting item.
Collecting the Edged Weapons of the Third Reich Volume 8 First Edition 1996 R.L. Bryan Company. Another classic I need to move due to required downsizing. This is the final volume of this series. Book is near mint condition with a small tear to the top of the dust jacket along the spine and a few more minor spots. Dust jacket is still nice and crisp and clean and the book is perfect with crisp, clean pages throughout.
Collecting the Edged Weapons of the Third Reich Volume 4 Second Edition 1981. Still shrink wrapped. I am in a place where I need to downsize a bit and I have to admit that I never got around to opening this one. Perfect shape with dustcover never touched by man.
Collecting the Edged Weapons of the Third Reich Volume 2 First Edition 1976 by LTC Thomas M Johnson. Another classic that I need to part with due to necessary downsizing. Very early in my collection this is well used and has many tissue place holder I just can't take out but buyer certainly may. Dust jacket shows good solid wear but book is in solid shape and pages are clean and sharp throughout.
Collecting the Edged Weapons of the Third Reich Volume 1 1977 Second Edition Paperback by LTC Thomas M. Johnson. Closer customers will probably know that I am at a point where I need to downsize significantly. This is one of the first reference books I ever bought when I first started collecting. It remains a classic. It is well worn on the cover but pages are generally clean and sharp and I would say it is in excellent shape. There are some tissue place holders that have been in place for decad...
Nice Deutscher Turnerbund tinnie from 1935. The date 1860 is given as a start date. I believe the DTB was founded in 1848 and the first gymnastics tournament held was in 1860. The organization was banned by the new regime in 1933 and was dissolved in 1935 (The year of this tinnie) when it was replaced by the umbrella of the NSRL. This may be for one of their last events before the war. Kreisturnfest Der Niederbayr. Ostmark Pfarrkirchen 29 u 30 Brachmond. Nice, historically interesting tinnie.
Interesting tinnie by Richard Sieper & Sohne. White plastic tinnie shows a great looking eagle with outstretched wings over a winged griffin. Text reads GAU KULTUR TAG (TAGE?) POMMERN 1939. I have seen similar tinnies but this Pommern variation appears to be a scarce particular example. The animals and lettering are all contrasted with gold paint giving it a good overall look. Attractive tinnie to add to a relevant collection.
Wettkampflage Der SA Gruppe Niedersachsen 6-8 Sept 1935 Hannover. This tinnie was for some competition, probably sporting event, for this SA gruppe. Nice SA tinnie.
Very attractive embroidered tinnie from June 1938 Gau Tag in Sud-Hannover Braunschweig. Ebroidery gives a useful tool to present various city crests in color. Really a very attractive tinnie.
DLRG Prüfungskarte für den Grundschein or Basic License Test Card. DLRG is a nonprofit life saving society founded in 1912 and remains active today. It is focused on water rescue and its activities stretch from life guarding, swimming instruction, rescue diving and assisting civil authorities with flood control. This document is dated 1942 and looks to be related to a lifeguard course.
Very nice plastic SA sport tinnie. Given for a three day sporting event in July 1938. Cool motif shows both rural and industrial scenes from the area and at the bottom the SA symbol in red surrounded by "SA Gruppe Westfalen". Maker marked Richard Sieper & Sohne Ludenscheid and very characteristic work by that manufacturer. Very attractive tinnie with very solid paint.
Lovely blue and red enamel medal for Honorable Member of the 13 Husaren (Hussars) Regiment. Very well made badge measuring 4.5cm high. I find no damage to the enamel or the rest of the piece. Backmarked A. SCHWERDT STUTTGART. Very cool badge would look great in just about any display.
Nice wound badge and matching document. Document is in decent shape with the usual crease down the middle. For its age the corners are reasonably sharp and there are no tears or missing material. The last name looks like Kargelain. I can't make out the unit but it looks like it starts with "mg" so possibly a machine gunner? Dated October 5, 1918. The wound badge is very attractive example with nice raised details. original paint is very strong with just very minimal wear to the raised details of...
KM coastal artillery cap eagle. Good looking gold eagle on green fabric. Patch is about 8cm long and eagle's wingspan is 6cm from gold wingtip to gold wingtip. Not a very easy patch to find.
Nice army tunic removed breast eagle. Shows nice signs of wear and really has the been-there look. On the eagle's left side is a stain likely of human origin (Not the same kind of stain as Monica's infamous blue dress). Cool insignia with a good story behind it.
WWI USN dog tag. It is on what appears to be the original chain which is, unfortunately broken. Obverse includes name, Frank Brody as well as what I assume are his birthdate and maybe date of entry to the Navy: 9-1-97 and 6-18-18. USNRF was the US Naval Reserve Force. The reverse shows Frank's thumbprint. Nice piece of WWI history.
Very nice signals badge, type as worn by Afrika Korps. Red lightning bolt represents artillery. Very nice patch.
GIL membership badge. The GIL was the Italian fascist equivalent to the Hitler Youth. This piece is termed a badge but is not too large with a height of 2.5cm. This was to be worn when the member was in civilian clothes. Nice red enamel on the lower half with orange on the top. Condition is perfect. Very well marked on the reverse, including patent information. Interesting pin.
