Very interesting medal. I believe this was issued to show defiance to the League of Nations Sanctions probably put in place to protest Italy's campaigns in Africa. Date on medal is November 18 1935 with Mussolini's profile (Of course). This is kind of how I feel toward the UN. Not a large medal; Just a bit wider then a quarter.

Excellent condition liner band for WWII German helmet. Dated 1943. Maker marked B & C LITZMANNSTADT . Complete down to the rings for the chin strap. Nice item but since I have a "don't fix" rule I guess this will never do me any real good so I will pass it on to the next guy.

Neat voucher from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Multi-page document on Commonwealth of Masschusetts stationary with notarized seal dated 1855. This is likely for a grandchild seeking benefits owed. Many soldiers during the war were not paid their bounties or even their regular pay because the Continental Congress was so short of funds for the duration of the war and it sometimes took generations to receive back pay...

Very nice musician sword by Ames. Inspector marked ADK and dated 1864. No negatives to speak of; Just a nice, solid sword. Drak of scabbard is also marked ADK. Besides the expected musical duties, musicians during the Civil War were often pressed into service as stretcher bearers and emergency medical orderlies.

This is a package with a good feel to it. Generally NCO swords are unengraved so it is very nice to find a Third Reich era example with an engraved blade. Blade is very clean throughout with only the tiniest age spots here and there; Unsharpened with a nice unbent needle point. Marked E & F HORSTER SOLINGEN but as this is under the langet it is impossible to photograph. Handle fittings show gentle wear...

Scarce SUB CHASER bar on WWI US Navy WWI victory medal. Original ribbon and bar both have that "been on forever" look. Everything is nice and sunk in, making it obvious nothing has been played with. Nice example of a scarce medal.

Very attractive framed photograph. Shows 12 men in full uniform. Caption attributes these gentleman to the 4th Battery of the 5th Field Artillery Regiment , Landau 1908. Even if discharged, fellows like this with heavy equipment experience were invariably called back to serve in WWI. No damage to the photograph (Please excuse the light reflection in my images). Frame shows evidence of light wear but is still very nice. Something is written on the back in pencil but I can't make it out...

Very cool antique Hessian regimental stein. Kanonier Hasele; 6th battery of the Hessian Field Artillery Regiment 61 of Babenhausen. Gorgeous field artillery scenes with vivid coloring throughout with raised details consistent with originals. Date of service was 1906-1908; Most soldiers serving in this time period were later called up for service in WWI...

Simply lovely Iron Cross First Class. Terrific vaulted example being gently convex (Or concave, depending on which side you look at). This pleasing shape is accompanied by a perfect never-been-cleaned-before patina. The black core has that attractive halo around the beaded silver that turns up from time to time and is only a product of honest aging. The reverse shows a similar patina. The pin assembly and hook work fine. As far as WWI EKI go, in my book this one is a 9.7 out of 10.

Nice set of hard to find Japanese army binoculars. I am not a binocular guy but they seem to work just fine. One screw is missing from the frame but this doesn't affect anything. The metal pieces have the underlying brass peeking throughh in a couple of tiny areas where the black paint was smoothed off. The leather is generally in good shape with some small wear. I would say 95%. Also present is what looks to be the original leather neck strap...

Nicely detailed luftwaffe banner painte on a light masonite type material. I have seen these before (Examples of various flags/standards) but not sure exactly what they were used for. One explanation I have heard is that they were used as seat markers at higher level meetings between service branches. In this case it would tell the representative from the Luftwaffe intelligence service where at the table he would be seated. The material is light so they are almost always a bit damaged...

Nice ersatz felt Prussian EM pickelhaube. These are popular as they were strictly WWI issue. The back right visor and the top around the spike are a bit pushed in but these felt helmets can easily be reshaped by wetting them; I just have a "Do-Nothing" policy so it will be for the next guy.
