Interesting tinnie marking the 60th year of this particular veteran group, likely started by veterans of the Franco-Prussian war. Upper left is a swaz, upper right the typical veteran monument. Center has a lion rampant surrounded by "Krieger Kamerad Schaft Hassia" translating loosely to War Comrade Society. Ribbon below has the dates 1874 1934. Excellent condition with an area of oxidation on upper left of rear. Veterans groups were one thing that Germany had not been short of over the years. N...

Nicely done bone inlay tray. I would think that this is from southeast Asia. Good sized example at 47x33cm. There is a fair amount of surface wear due to age as well as missing inlay here and there. I do not repair items but I would think that the missing inlay could be filled in and of course there are always ways to fix surface wear. The wood is a mystery to me being quite dark and having a grain that looks almost like hairs. Pretty work on this piece and priced quite fairly.

Nice mother's medal from the fascist Italian era. Each bow represents a child. There are 6 bows on this one but it looks like a 7th was at the top but has been lost to time. Slight green tint to rear of ribbon.

Well this item is somewhere between "really cool" and "super cool". As the variety of devices for pickelaube were so vast this salesman was given a set of photographed examples to pedal. The brown envelope is about 31.5x42cm. The text on the envelope identifies it as the offerings of the maker Paul Meybauer and published in Leipzig. The envelope itself shows some minor wear but is really in pretty good shape considering age and likely usage; Still crisp with no damage or even any folding creases...

Hitler plaque given as awards to NSDAP political officers of various levels. Bottom has some sort of motivational quote. Priced right.

Interesting, period, thick cardboard poster of a Third Reich agricultural district. Not military but I always find this "Blood and butter" stuff interesting. It is a little bowed and the corners show real wear but colors and the "meat" of the poster are still solid and attractive. This would still look pretty nice if flattened out in even a cheap Walmart frame. The river is the Inn so without doing much research I would assume it is an area in Austria. Not a fancy item but really a unique item w...

Rising sun parade flag. Very interesting that this remains in such good shape as it is small and delicate. Stick measure 30cm and has black stripes and a neat little gold painted ball at the top. Besides the fact that this delicate stick has not broken it amazingly has the original tag still in place. The silk flag section measures about 17x12cm and still has bright coloring. This is not an expensive high end item but it is just really neat and would look great in even an advanced collection. 2 ...

This is a neat little item. Priced cheap as it needs a repair but will be cool when fixed. The bag says something about 2600th anniversary which I believe is a reference to 1940 when Japan celebrated the 2600th anniversary of the Japanese empire mythically founded by Emperor Jimmu. It is an interesting date as Japan was heavily engaged in China and was being cornered into a deeper war with the western powers. Little telescoping flag pole broken in the middle. It came with the little metal ring s...

No this is not a scarce medal but this is as good as you can get. 2nd class war merit cross with swords on a lovely, clean and well wrapped parade mount. The accompanying document is likewise in excellent condition. It does have the usual fold in the middle but the corners are reasonably sharp and the paper is free of stains and yellowing. Very attractive pair. The photograph came with. No, there is no proof they are involved but I am not charging extra and I would like it to stay with the set. ...

Very cool G.A.R. kepi for the first New Hampshire regiment which fought at First Bull Run and other notable engagements. Very neat bullion patches and GAR buttons. Very solid structural condition. Damage consists of 2 nips to the fabric and a blister to the bottom of the visor all shown in the photos. Nips are hard to notice because of the dark color of the hat overall. Label looks to read "THE M. C. LILLEY & CO COLUMBUS OHIO MANUFACTURERS OF MILITARY AND SOCIETY GOODS". I am not sure what the l...

Nice three place medal bar. Iron Cross second class, Hindenberg Cross and Wuerttemberg (Or Wuerttemberg) Bravery. Always nice to find off-state medal bars. Iron Cross on this bar is a very nice hallmarked example and is a winner by itself. Nice unit with no damage beyond normal gentle wear for a set this old.

Very interesting medal. I believe this was issued to show defiance to the League of Nations Sanctions probably put in place to protest Italy's campaigns in Africa. Date on medal is November 18 1935 with Mussolini's profile (Of course). This is kind of how I feel toward the UN. Not a large medal; Just a bit wider then a quarter.

Excellent condition liner band for WWII German helmet. Dated 1943. Maker marked B & C LITZMANNSTADT . Complete down to the rings for the chin strap. Nice item but since I have a "don't fix" rule I guess this will never do me any real good so I will pass it on to the next guy.

Very attractive framed photograph. Shows 12 men in full uniform. Caption attributes these gentleman to the 4th Battery of the 5th Field Artillery Regiment , Landau 1908. Even if discharged, fellows like this with heavy equipment experience were invariably called back to serve in WWI. No damage to the photograph (Please excuse the light reflection in my images). Frame shows evidence of light wear but is still very nice. Something is written on the back in pencil but I can't make it out. 44x38 cm ...

Nicely detailed luftwaffe banner painte on a light masonite type material. I have seen these before (Examples of various flags/standards) but not sure exactly what they were used for. One explanation I have heard is that they were used as seat markers at higher level meetings between service branches. In this case it would tell the representative from the Luftwaffe intelligence service where at the table he would be seated. The material is light so they are almost always a bit damaged. This one ...

Nice example of a Prussian enlisted pickelhaube spiked helmet. All original parts. The red, white and black cockade looks to have been repainted. There is a tear in the liner (See 3rd and 4th photos) and two tongues have torn where the tie string goes through. The plate has two extra holes which is odd because it is doubtful this was "upgraded" to a Prussian EM. The rear spine prongs are gone but it is firmly in place, being held by the back screw and pressure from the spike assembly. There is a...

This document is an affidavit stating that this soldier served in the Continental Army during the revolution. Basically it states that John Pratt of Dublin, county of Cheshire in New Hampshire served in the last three years of the war. It is signed by what looks like Joseph Atherton. After the signature this fellow states that at the time of enlistment Pratt lived in another town but I can't quite make it out. Very cool document and it is always nice finding something related to the Revolutionar...
