This one is not in very good shape with significant rusting on the back. I imagine someone with some time and a can of WD40 might be able to make this look a lot better. Luftschutz examples are hard to fond so even though this looks like Oscar the grouch's summer home it is a cool item.

Very nice condition fire police NCO visor cap. Just a small area of where on the rear edge (See final photo). Insignia is nice and sunk in with a been-there-forever look. Nice celluloid maker diamond from a firm that specializes in fire fighting equipment. Stamps designate this hat as being from the Obersalzberg area police force with inspector dates of 1942 and 1943...

Nice example of a classic hat. Correct manufacture for WWII Japanese navy. There is one spot on the top where the reinforcing wire is poking through; I would recommend just snipping it. There is a label missing from the inside. There is a period repair to the seam in the top rear (See photos for the points). Besides these three negatives, which aren't too devastating, a nice, solid and clean hat.

I know WWII British hats aren't too terribly valuable but I bought this a while ago and set it aside just because the badge is just so darned pretty. I suspect this probably dates well before WWII but will err on the side of caution. The badge is mounted on the hat band and the quality is just superb. The felt crown is a pleasure to touch and the anchor could possibly be silver plate but not sure. the whole piece is thick and three dimensional...

Rather toasty pairing of Red Cross leader dagger blade and scabbard. These are not pretty but sure are cheap. Please see photos.

Very attractive reproduction of the famous Pour le Merite medal. This is the famous German order (Oddly enough with a French name) known as the Blue Max. Nice, thick ribbon made with metallic silver weave on the sides. One light scratch on the reverse of the medal (See last photo). Very nice filler for display purposes.

Another SS NCO photograph. This one is dated 1934 on the back. Looks like good information written on the back but I have trouble reading it. Koln is about all I can decipher.

Allgemiane NCO Photo. Back stamp designating it as being taken by a member of the Bonn Guild of Professional Photographers. Top rate photo shows good uniform details and a great looking cap on a handsome SS man. Easily a publishable photo.

Nice family postcard photograph with an Allgemaine SS NCO. He is a bit tucked in behind one of the ladies but some cool uniform details are evident including cuff title, collar tabs and a bit of his dagger. Unposted.

These are out of my field of expertise and I am relying on a colleague who identified these for me. He says they are %Rhodesian and hasn't been wrong yet for me but if anyone out there has a different opinion I would much appreciate it. Photos show the pattern and the "busy" areas. Looks like one button has been replaced. That is typical of well used bush combat gear, together with the other repairs shown and the fading.

Very nice silver grade clasp for Transport and Glider squadrons. Fair amount of silver finish throughout. The back hook is a bit bent. The front is missing the eagle attachment but still looks good as below where that should be is an identical eagle. Has anyone ever figured out why they added an eagle attachment over an identical eagle? At any rate, a cool medal priced accordingly.

No matter what anyone thought of Frank Rizzo, nobody was of little opinion and his years as mayor of Philadelphia were extremely interesting. Rizzo, who graduated step by step from beat cop to mayor, was known for his toughness and one famous photograph showed on his way from a full dress function to a prison riot with a billy club tucked into his tuxedo. This book is a guaranteed good read. Priced half of cover price.

Nice cased example of War Merit Cross w Swords. Die struck zinc construction typical of late war production. Medal is in very good condition and maker marked "3" for Wilhelm Deumer. The box has an embossed War Merit Cross on the lid and looks good closed. The back leatherette spine is separated. Inside, the cardboard paper trim is lifted in the back left corner (This really could be glued down with decent results) and the silk joiner in the back is ripped a little more then half way...

Fine condition SS marked police officer sword. The SS runes are on the ricasso on the opposite side from the WKC maker mark. This is a large step up from the little proofs often found on the scabbard throat or bottom of guard and suggests a tighter SS connection. Early style matte finish blade has some minor spotting near the handle and around the ricasso markings. The business near the tip in one photograph is just dried oil...

Interesting set of what appears to be 38 various regulation booklets, song books, BDM newsletters, receipts and hand typed letters and one cool looking youth propaganda magazine with a viking ship on the cover, all related to the running of a BDM group. Of special note are the 7 leaflets in the first image titled "Obergaubefehl". Obviously this translates to "The District High Command" for Gau 7 (Nordsee)...

"Remember the Maine" became the battle cry for the United States during the Spanish American war in 1898. Hostilities broke out after the explosion of the Maine in Havana harbor. Apparently the old slogan "Remember the Alamo was deemed to have been successful enough for a retread. This change purse was a product of that time "fad". The buff leather is worn (As buff leather well over 100 years old tends to do) but there are no tears and the leather remains quite soft and pliant despite age...
