This is one of those items that you have to like more the more you look at it. It is a silk hinomaru flag to which was added a gold fringe and a purple silk border. The quality is evident in that even the purple border has a pattern of hummingbirds over water that was too subtle to catch on a photograph. The dedication states that it was a gift from Nakao Kazuo to Ushijima Juzo with a phrase basically stating "Good luck in long fighting"...

Excellent, ORIGINAL, pre WWI German regimental stein. Reservist Wilden. Kgl (?) Bayr. 22 Inff Regt 9 Comp. Saargemund 1912-1914. Nice bright colors with no chips, cracks or damage that I can find. Very interesting as it actually has the fellows photograph beside that of the king. Lithopane on bottom shown in photos. The lion thumb catch has a crystal eye. These crystals are tiny (about 2mm diameter), but had detailed photographs visible when peered through...

War merit 1st Class with issued box. Silvered zinc variety. As is normally the case the finish is mostly worn off. This type of metal didn't hold the silvering very well and even when properly stored it tends to come off over the years. The issue box is very nice except the hinge, which is actually a leatherette tape, is seperated (but still held on by the fabric on the right half). As most collectors know, the boxes are far more scarce then the medal...

This is the very desirable "Order of the Golden Kite 6th Class" medal. This is very popular with collectors as it is strictly for military valor. Condition is excellent with nice toning to the medal. The original ribbon is a bit faded and has the metal catch still on the back. Includes the button hole ribbon. Box is excellent with 3 tiny chips to the lacquer (on the sides and back-barely noticable). Box is also form fitted for this specific medal. An excellent package.

This is the soft cover first edition from 1979. Written by the highly respected Thomas M. Johnson, this is one of the early collecting classics and is a nice, small size for carrying with you. It is in very good shape with minor age showing. A hard to find book.

This offering is a very tasteful Japanese bud vase featuring three characters in kimono. It measures a little under 4 inches. For whatever reason, the signature is blackened making it hard to make out.
