Spanish Blue Division Hat and Badge Grouping WWII
Very cool overseas or side hat, badge and belt buckle combination for a sergeant of the Spanish Blue Division. While Franco managed to hold Spain out of WWII it was allowed for a volunteer division to be sent to the eastern front. While Franco's goal was to avoid plunging Spain into the maelstrom of war, allowing this volunteer division to be formed was more then likely a way to get the hot heads out of the country. At any rate, this is a nice set of scarce items. All original WWII vintage. The hat has some wear, mostly along the bottom edge and the hat badge shows enamel wear; See photos for both condition issues. I am honestly not sure if this belt buckle is supposed to have one prong or two as this is the first I have ever encountered. Really a neat set and I really think the individual pieces add up to well over the asking price.
