| This important badge is for the the party rallies of February 25, 1934 in which over a million party members famously swore an oath of loyalty to Adolf Hitler. I guess at the time this seemed like a good idea to them? At any rate, the top reads 1:GAUPARTEITAG HAMBURG . On the top of the oval reads PARTEIGRUNDUNGSFEIER HAMBURG 24.2.34 , translating to something like the First party celebration of Hamburg Feb 24, 1934. The bottom of the oval reads VEREIDGUNG d.POLIT LEITER 25.2.34 which transaltes to something like Swearing in of the political leader 25.2.34, an obvious reference to the swearing in ceremony of that date of which much information can be found. This may sound like a tinnie but I am calling it a badge as it is of quality construction and has a badge type catch instead of a tinnie type pin. This quality badge was probably given to someone of some importance. Very cool, very rare piece. | |||||||
