| Very cool WWI era German boot knife. Blade shows graying (see photos) but is actually quite smooth. Very gently sharpened which is normal as this was not for dress but for real business. Near spine blade is marked "STOCK EISENACH" and near ricasso marked "HAND ARBEIT". Handle is very nice undamaged stag horn and the three rivets have never been played with. Scabbard is a neat little thing with rather fresh leather showing only minor aging with no signs of abuse or damage. The two scabbard fittings are slightly over sized (Probably from leather shrinkage). Scabbard throat has a bit of a wobble but is still on there securely. The strap is very interesting and multipurpose; It is an open loop that can go on a belt but also has a button hole and it looks like the whole assembly could be tucked inside the owner's shirt to be ready quickly. In the scabbard the whole unit is 21.3cm long. A neat little knife. | |||||||||||||||
