Gettysburg KIA Gold Mourning Watch Fob Civil War

Wonderful piece of jewelry that is collectible in many levels.It looks to be a watch fob the bottom of which is a Civil War style canteen. One side reads "U.S." and the other "Gettysburg". As the fabric is black I would assume it is mourning jewelry; If it were a proud veteran it would more likely have a splashy color scheme like red, white and blue. A likely scenario is a father grieving for his fallen son. Gettysburg related material is extremely hard to find in today's market and this piece really pulls at the heart strings. Even though unmarked I would imagine there is some gold content. This piece is fascinating, neat and tragic all at once.
