Spanish Military Training Medal and Photo - WWII Era
Very interesting medal and a good display of Spanish colors. Front has, under a gold crown, an enamel roundel with the lettering ENSENANZA MILITAR with the bust of a Spartan warrior. This is on a very three dimensional ribbon which has about 3/4 inch depth with ends of nice, high quality bullion. Reverse has a nice pinback assembly. All in overall excellent condition as per photos. This comes with a 4 1/2 x 3 1/4 inch photo of a Spanish soldier with the medal being worn. This photograph does have a small scuff on the front but not too distracting. The rear of this photo is credited to April 1947 in Madrid. I would assume this medal would have been in service in 1945. The medal itself appears to be related to military training, I think given to graduates of selected military training schools although I may be wrong on this point. At any rate, it is a nice looking award that would add to most any military decoration display and is certainly priced well.
