Large Banner Flag from City of Trier - WWII German
Very interesting flag. Large building sized flag but not obnoxiously large. Top portion is a square party flag about 56x56 inches. One half of this (Two sided flag so could be right or left) has the top of a long tapered tail attached. This tale stretches for about 105 inches. I would imagine there would be another mirror image pennant and the two bordered a large doorway or archway. Stamped on the disc is "Eigentum der Stadt Trier". Trier is a lovely city with impressive Roman ruins and a very nice Christmas market that I was lucky enough to visit once. Certainly a very interesting flag. Image 7 shows the stitching where the tail connects. Image 8 shows where the three panels are sewn together (The upper flag is a two paneled example). One small hole near the bottom of the tail (Image 9) and one small tear on the border of the upper flag (Image 6).
