Welcome!
Very rare edition printed 1896 by Herbert S Stone & Co. Artie, A Story of the Streets and Town by George Ade, pictures by John T McCutcheon.
After graduating from Purdue University, Ade wrote for some newspapers in Lafayette before moving to Chicago where he found work at The Morning News, which later became the Chicago Record. He began publishing his own work in 1896, and kept writing for the rest of his life. He was well known as a humorist and for his tongue-in-cheek style of writing. Artie is a book of Ade's columns, illustrated by John T McCutcheon, whom he met in college.
