I don't know where to start with this one. Clearly at least 100 years old. The base fabric is a heavy duty silk - sturdy enough to withstand the weight of the ornate beadwork. It is a little jacket or shoulder covering or cape or as I like to call it, a "capelet". It is worn over the shoulder and is fitted but does not have sleeves. This one has a standup color and padded shoulders. The long fringe follows the uneven shape of the design and is in excellent condition with only one or two lenths of fringe (out of hundreds) missing. The entire piece of fabric is covered, front and back, with ornate paisley like patterning in several different sizes of glass beads. The silk lining is all but gone. There are 4 hook and eye closures from the base of the neck to the bottom. This is a museum quality garment. There are a few missing beads in the body and I only mention it for accuracy sake - the pricing is appropriate given the rareity and condition. Pictures and dimensions to follow...
