Long-Handled Mustard or Horseradish Spoon by Hildeburn & Watson
Offered is an American coin silver condiment spoon, probably a dry mustard or horseradish spoon, by Philadelphia silversmiths Samuel Hildeburn and James Watson, working in partnership under the name Hildeburn & Watson from 1829/30 to 1833. This piece measures about 5 1/4 inches in length and weighs about 10 grams. Condition is fair, as there is a slight twist in the handle and a few dings to the bowl. The period engraved script monogram has little wear, and the maker's mark is legible though a little rubbed. All in all a nice early example of this form of condiment spoon!
