Philadelphia Coin Silver Teaspoon by Osborn Conrad w/Unusual Mark
Offered is an interesting Philadelphia coin silver teaspoon by noted silversmith and spoon manufacturer Osborn Conrad, who worked in the industry for only about a decade or a little more, but who seems to have been extremely successful. Many of his spoons survive, though this is the only one I've come across with this particular maker's mark. This mark was used for the book "Philadelphia Silversmiths" by Catherine Hollan. This spoon measures about 5 7/8 inches in length and weighs about 14 grams. Condition is good overall, though the surface is a bit bright and there are dimples in the bowl and one to the upper handle. All in all a good example of one of Osborn Conrad's scarcest marks!
