SOLD

Offered is an excellent and desirable American coin silver teaspoon in the fiddle and shell pattern by noted Philadelphia jewelers and silversmiths Thibault & Brothers, working in that town circa 1810-37. By style, this spoon probably dates to 1820 or later. This piece has a good engraved period script monogram and a well-struck, clear maker's mark. The die-struck shell decoration is relatively unworn. This piece measures about 5 7/8 inches in length and weighs about 20 grams. Condition is very good overall, with modest wear from normal use and no dents, splits or repairs. All in all a very attractive piece of Philadelphia coin silver from a major maker!
