Offered is an exquisite late 18th Century American coin silver soup ladle decorated in a circa 1790-1800 style, probably made in the mid-Atlantic, perhaps inland Pennsylvania given the slight midrib to the reverse and the narrow, elongated engraved reserve for the period monogram, which appears to be "YDC". This soup ladle is unsigned but nonetheless stands out for its style and workmanship. This piece is heavy and well-made, measuring about 14 inches and weighing about 162 grams. Condition of this piece is very good overall, with a few small scratches or scuffs but little surface wear, no major dents and no splits or repairs. All in all a fine late 18th Century coin silver serving piece!
