$60.00

Offered is a scarce pair of St. Charles, Missouri coin silver table spoons by jeweler and watchmaker Ludwig Meyer (or possibly his son, August(us) A. Meyer), working in St. Charles circa 1835-74. These tablespoons probably date to the 1850s but could be a few years earlier or later. This pair is faintly monogrammed, with what appears to be period script initials 'SAA'. Each spoon bears a well-struck maker's mark or retailer's mark and a town mark for St. Charles. These spoons each measure about 8 1/2 inches in length and the total weight is about 101 grams. Condition is fair, with the bowls out of round and having some dings and some tip wear, but with no splits or repairs. All in all a good example of this mark!

These tablespoons are available either singly for $35 each or as a pair for $60.
