Offered is a good set of six Hanoverian pattern English Georgian sterling silver teaspoons, dating to about 1760-70 and bearing the maker's mark of "TD" or "ID" in script. This may be a Thomas Dealtry mark, or that of someone else. These spoons are each engraved to the reverse with owner's initials - three are engraved E*R and three are engraved A*R. The engraving is by the same hand, so perhaps each spouse got their initials on half the set! At any rate, it appears these spoons all originated together, from the same family. These spoons each measure between about 4 3/8 and 4 1/2 inches in length, and the set weighs about 56 grams overall. Condition is good, with moderate wear and with one or two spoons having a a tiny dimple or two, but with no major dents and no splits or repairs. All in all a fine set of 250 year-old spoons for day-to-day use!
