Offered is a nice fluted-bowl American coin silver master salt spoon by well-known Philadelphia makers Butler & McCarty. This piece probably dates to the 1850s. It is uncommon in that it bears the initials-only maker's mark the partnership used infrequently on flatware, and more often on spectacles and other smalls. This piece also has a period engraved script monogram. It measures about four inches in length and weighs about 8 grams. Condition is fair overall, with some small dings to the bowl but no splits or repairs. All in all a nice little piece!
