$17.50

Offered is a good American coin silver teaspoon by the partnership of Jehu and William L. Ward, working in Philadelphia from the late 1830s through Jehu's death in 1850; silver with the partnership's maker's marks continued to be offered for a couple of years thereafter. The mark on this particular spoon is uncommon and was used for the book "Philadelphia Silversmiths" by Hollan. This piece also has a good period engraved script monogram. This spoon measures about 5 3/4 inches in length and weighs about 18 grams. Condition is very good overall, with some minor surface wear in the bowl from normal use but no dents, splits or repairs. All in all a very nice specimen example of this mark, or a piece for daily use or display!
