SOLD

Offered is a fine American coin silver teaspoon by the noted Philadelphia partnership of Jehu & William L. Ward, working in that city between 1837 and 1850, when Jehu died. This piece bears one of several maker's marks used by the prolific pair, and the mark on this particular spoon was used for the book "Philadelphia Silversmiths" by Hollan. This spoon also has a good engraved period script monogram. It measures about 6 inches in length and weighs about 16 grams. Condition is good overall, with some bumping in the bowl and light surface wear overall, but no splits or repairs. All in all a nice example of this mark, and a good spoon for day-to-day use!
