SOLD

Offered is a very rare early American coin silver teaspoon by Philadelphia silversmith Peter Gallard, working circa 1800-22. This piece by style should date to the 1810-22 period; see my other listings for a teaspoon that is probably from the first decade of Mr. Gallard's career. This spoon has a clear maker's mark and a good period engraved script monogram of "AS". This piece measures about 5 3/8 inches in length and weighs about 12 grams. Condition overall is very good, with modest surface wear from normal use, but no dents, splits or repairs. All in all a fine example of a very early coin silver spoon by a good maker!
