SOLD

Offered is a good American coin silver teaspoon with a clear maker's mark for Davis & Morong, a short-lived (circa 1820) partnership between Thomas Aspinwall Davis and Thomas N. Morong, both of Boston. This is the first example I've seen of this mark. This spoon is also engraved with a period script monogram. This piece measures about six inches in length and weighs about twelve grams. Condition is fair, with light tip wear, some bumps and dings to the bowl, and a couple of bends to the handle. Nonetheless, a rare mark! All in all a nice nearly two-century-old Boston coin silver spoon!
