SOLD

Offered is a very good early American coin silver master salt spoon in the coffin-end or coffin handle pattern, probably made in the Northeastern United States (perhaps NY, RI or thereabouts) circa 1800-10. This piece is decorated with a period engraved script monogram of "FB" and does not have a maker's mark. This piece measures a little over 3 3/4 inches in length and weighs about 7 grams. Condition is excellent, with no dents, splits or repairs. There is a small spot of stubborn tarnish on the reverse of the upper handle (see pictures); this would just take a little elbow grease to remove. All in all a great example of the form!
