SOLD

Offered is a good Tuscan pattern American coin silver tablespoon, circa 1850, retailed by Harbottle & Smith of Auburn, NY. This pattern was patented by Michael Gibney in 1846, and has remained popular ever since. This tablespoon measures about 8 5/8 inches in length and weighs a good 62 grams, or about two troy ounces. It is engraved with a fancy script monogram that appears to be somewhat later, probably over an erasure. It is well done, however. Condition overall is very good, with minimal tip wear and only modest surface wear, and no dents, splits or repairs. All in all a good useful piece to fill in a flatware service, or to use as a single server!
