SOLD

Offered is a very good American coin silver fork in the fiddlethread pattern by Samuel Kirk & Son, dating to the period of 1846-61, when the particular maker's mark found on this piece was in use. This fork is also engraved with a period armorial of a mailed arm grasping a broken lance or spear, perhaps for the Player family. This piece measures about 6 7/8 inches in length and weighs about 53 grams. It may be a dessert fork or a salad fork, and has very good weight. Condition on this piece is good overall, with some surface wear and modest tine wear, but no splits or repairs. All in all a fine example of crested coin silver from Baltimore!
