Offered is a very scarce example of a Sheaf-of-Wheat pattern coin silver spoon from the Midwest - in this case from the Ashtabula, Ohio area. The maker is A.G. Peck, about whom little is known; he is believed to have worked in the Ashtabula area in the 1820s. This piece has an engraved period script monogram and a rubbed but legible maker's mark. Please click through the pictures to see everything. The die-struck sheaf-of-wheat decoration is in good shape. This piece measures about 6 1/16 inches in length and weighs about 15 grams. Condition is fairly good overall, with modest wear to the surface and tip and minor shallow bumps to the bowl. There are no splits or repairs. All in all a fine example of a rare form for Ohio!
