SOLD

Offered is a lovely pair of Southern coin silver teaspoons by Kentucky silversmith E.C. Beard, working in Louisville alone and in partnership circa 1820-60. These spoons by style could date anywhere from 1830 to the 1850s, but are most likely from the 1830s or 1840s. Each is marked BEARD in a distinctive serrated punch with a funny curve to the left side. Each spoon also has a period engraved script monogram of "SW". Please take a look at all pictures. These spoons each measure about 5 7/8 inches in length, and the pair weighs a total of about 30 grams. Condition is good overall, with some light wear and signs of normal usage, but no major dents and no splits or repairs. All in all a nice example of the work of Evans C. Beard!
