Offered is a good set of three American coin silver teaspoons bearing the mark of Johann Matthias Bonnet, Sr. (b. 1811, d. 1882), working in Zanesville from 1835 to his death. Bonnet was primarily a clockmaker and retailer, but also sold jewelry and silver flatware. These spoons probably date to the 1835-50 period, and are each marked with a clear maker's mark or retailer's mark for Bonnet. Each spoon also has a period engraved script monogram. These spoons each measure about 5 1/2 inches in length, and the set of three weighs a total of about 46 grams. Condition is very good overall, with one spoon having a few shallow dings to the bowl, but with no splits or repairs to any of the three spoons. Please review all the pictures. All in all a fine set of early Zanesville coin silver spoons!
