Offered is a lovely set of three large and heavy early coin silver table spoons, unmarked but stylistically related to the set of four dessert spoons by Bentley & Wood (Washington, DC circa 1809) just listed, with the same engraved initial of "B". These spoons are slightly different at the neck and have a minor difference in the engraving, but have the same bowl shape and general proportions; they came on the market at the same time and from the same state as the Bentley & Wood spoons, and may have descended in the same family. These tablespoons measure about 8 5/8 inches in length and weigh a total of about 186 grams. Condition is very good, with minimal tip wear and no dents, splits or repairs. All in all a fine set of three well-executed early 19th Century silver tablespoons, that might be Southern coin silver!
