This item is currently being auctioned

Offered is a lovely American coin silver serving piece, partly gilt, by Henry Shmedtie or possibly Augustus and Henry Shmedtie working together, and marked SHMEDTIE over WASH DC. This piece dates to the 1870s, and probably on the earlier end. It measures about 9 1/4 inches in length, and weighs about 44 grams. It is engraved with a period initial of "M"; please see my other listings for more DC coin silver from the same family. The maker's mark or retailer's mark on this piece is very clear, and condition overall is excellent, with minimal wear and no dents, splits or repairs. All in all a lovely piece of Southern coin silver, perfect for use or display!
