Offered is a good set of three Southern coin silver table spoons by Washington, DC silversmith Samuel Lewis, who worked in that city from about 1840 until about 1880, and whose shop was on Pennsylvania Avenue for most of that time. These tablespoons are part of a group of DC coin silver pieces descended in the same family; see my other listings for other pieces from that group. These three tablespoons have clear maker's marks and a period engraved monogram. Each measures about 8 3/4 inches in length, and the set of three spoons weighs a total of about 139 grams. Condition is good overall, though each bowl is somewhat out of round. There are no splits or repairs. All in all a nice group of heavy, well-made Southern coin silver tablespoons!
