SOLD

Offered is a good pair of American coin silver dessert spoons by well-known New York silversmith Baldwin Gardiner (1791-1868), who flourished in the 1830s and 1840s - the period of these spoons. Each spoon bears Gardiner's maker's mark and a set of pseudo-hallmark type manufacturer's marks. Each spoon is also expertly engraved with a lovely monogram in period script. These spoons measure just under seven inches in length and weigh about 63 grams altogether. Condition is fair to good, with some little bumps in each bowl but no major dents and no splits or repairs. These are nice usable spoons and in a desirable size. All in all a nice pair of early American silver dessert spoons!
