This item is currently being auctioned

Offered is a lovely circa 1780 English Georgian sterling silver and baleen toddy ladle measuring about 13 inches in length, as typical without hallmarks or maker's mark but guaranteed with a 1709 English sterling coin inset into the bowl. This piece also has a period engraved script monogram in a reserve to the front of the bowl (see all pictures by clicking on the first picture), in a script style typical of the 1770-90 timeframe. This ladle is in very good condition with some drying of the baleen but no looseness, and no dings or dents to the bowl. There are no obvious splits or repairs, though with these pieces small repairs can easily be missed. All in all a lovely example of the form!
