Offered is a new mark that may be the retailers' mark of a partnership between Malcom MacNeil (McNeil) of Philadelphia and his son John A. MacNeil (McNeil). I've never come across this mark before, but the spoon was manufactured by Watts of Philadelphia and is of the right time period for this father and son to have formed a partnership. The marks are nicely struck, and this spoon also has an excellently engraved period script monogram. This spoon measures about 6 1/8 inches in length and weighs about 21 grams. Condition is very good, with very little tip or surface wear. There are a few small dimples in the bowl, but no large dents and no splits or repairs. All in all a lovely example of a rare mark in Philadelphia coin silver!
