Cliff Nunn - Antique Silver and Decorative Arts
New York Coin Silver Spoon by John & James Cox, Marked J&IC
$17.50
Offered is a nice example of one of the maker's marks of the noted NY firm of J. & I. Cox. This piece has a good clear maker's mark and is also graced with a period engraved script monogram. This spoon probably dates to the 1830s but could be a decade earlier or later. This piece measures about 5 7/8 inches in length and weighs about 18 grams. Condition is good overall, with some modest surface wear, but with no splits or repairs. Please take a look at all the photos. All in all a good example of American coin silver from this firm!
