Offered is a nice Irish Georgian sterling silver salad serving fork, hallmarked for Dublin, 1825. The maker's mark is LK, which I haven't tracked down, and there is also a retailer's mark for Edward Twycross (fl. circa 1816-36). This piece bears a good period engraved armorial of a cat of some kind holding a broken spear in its mouth. Presumably this can be tied to only a few families. Pinning down the original owners would be added by the fact that there are small period engraved initials of REN to the heel. This piece was originally a platter spoon, but was converted early on to match another Irish Georgian platter spoon from 1812, but with the same crest and initials. That piece is offered separately on my website, next to this listing.

This salad serving fork measures nearly 12 inches in length and weighs about 109 grams. Condition overall is quite good, with minor signs of use and a few small scuffs or scratches, but no splits or repairs. Please review all the pictures. All in all a fine example of a converted Georgian platter spoon!
