Not For Sale - Solve this Mystery Mark and Win a Coin Silver Spoon!
This American coin silver tablespoon dating to about 1820-40 is not for sale, but rather one that I need some help with. It measures about 9 1/8 inches in length and weighs about 50 grams. It has a faint period script engraved monogram running across the top of the handle, and a maker's mark of D.G in a rectangular punch. This piece has a mid-Atlantic or Midwestern feel, though it could be from some places in the American South outside of the major cities. It is almost certainly not by David Greenleaf Jr., or Sr. for that matter. Would appreciate any leads, and if you can definitively solve this one, I will send you a period American coin silver teaspoon in good condition, or offer $10 off your next order. Thanks!
