SOLD

Offered is an excellent set of four well-made coin silver teaspoons by Philadelphia silversmith, clockmaker and jeweler Nicholas LeHuray, Jr. (b. 1797 - d. 1846), working circa 1821-46 in that city. Nicholas LeHuray, Jr. made or sold some very fine flatware, and occasional hollowware. His work is not all that scarce but is usually very desirable. Check my other listings for a slightly earlier teaspoon by LeHuray, Jr. This set of teaspoons is from the 1825-46 period (probably the 1830s), on the later end of Nicholas' career. Each spoon has a period engraved script monogram and a legible maker's mark. These teaspoons measure about 6 5/16 inches in length, and the set of four spoons weighs a total of about 83 grams. Condition overall is excellent, with a few small scuffs or scratches, but no dents, splits or repairs. Please take a look at all of the pictures. All in all a fine example of this man's wares!
