SOLD

Offered is a nice Philadelphia coin silver teaspoon by scarce maker Frederick (H?) Smith of Philadelphia, working as a silversmith and jeweler between about 1833 and 1845, and alter as a case maker and pocket book manufacturer. The marks on this particular spoon were used for the book "Philadelphia Silversmiths" by Catherine Hollan. This spoon also has a period engraved script monogram. It measures about 6 1/16 inches in length and weighs about 18 grams. Condition is fair at best, with lots of dings and dents, and some rippling to the handle, but no splits or repairs. All in all a nice example of the mark used by this man!
