Offered is a very nice coin silver teaspoon by little-known maker Frederick Smith, working as a silversmith and jeweler from about 1833-45, and as a case maker and pocket-book maker thereafter. This spoon has a rubbed but legible maker's mark for Smith, as well as a period engraved script monogram. It measures about 5 7/8 inches in length and weighs about 11 grams. Condition is fairly good overall, with a slight wave in the handle and a small ding in the bowl, but no splits or repairs. All in all a nice example of this man's wares!
