Cliff Nunn - Antique Silver and Decorative Arts
Nice Teaspoon Circa 1825-50 Marked SCOTT - Location Unknown
$27.50
Offered is an interesting American coin silver teaspoon circa 1825-50 marked SCOTT in a primitive scalloped punch. I'm not sure of the maker or the location this spoon was made; there were both Northern and Southern makers by this name. I'd appreciate any thoughts on the origin of this spoon. This spoon has an unusual period engraved script monogram that appears to be "ZO". The maker's mark is clear and legible. This spoon measures about 6 3/16 inches in length, and weighs about 19 grams. Condition is excellent overall, with minimal wear and no dents, splits or repairs. All in all a lovely example of this maker's mark!
