Offered is a nice American coin silver sugar shell in the fiddlethread pattern, by Edwin J Baldwin and Jeremiah McLene, working in partnership in Indianapolis, Indiana circa 1853-1859. This piece has a worn period script monogram and a maker's mark or jeweler's mark of E.J.BALDWIN&CO., which is still legible (see pics). This piece measures about 6 1/8 inches in length and weighs about 29 grams. Condition is fair overall, with some surface wear but no dents, splits or repairs. All in all a nice early Indiana coin silver sugar shell!
