Brass Oak Leaf Bangle Clamper

A very unique and distinctive vintage brass clamper. The motif is a series of six oak leaves overlaid in a continuous row to form the bracelet. The leaves begin and end at the hinge giving the impression of continuity around one's wrist. This piece is probably cast, maybe stamped, whether by hand or machine the multi-leafed detail is marvelous. The springed hinge is tight and where the bracelet joins there is a slight catch on the lobe of the end leaf to prevent it from closing too far. A well thought out, and individual example of superlative craftsmanship. The wristlet is 2 1/8" (5.5cm) diameter closed, 1 1/2" (4.0cm) tall, and weighs 2.1oz (59g).
