Ceramic Sitting Granny Figurine
A wonderfully sculpted figurine of someone's grandma sitting and watching.. her grand-kids? She is holding a gold covered item possibly her knitting in her lap. Her composition is probably sculpted clay, however she could possibly be a resin. Either way she has very nice textured details, and most likely she was hand-sculpted. Gold also accents the top of her chair back. The right chair arm scroll work on the end is slightly chipped; this seems to be the only flaw. There is a small, very faint logo above the letters ASV on the back. I know that she was purchased in the late 70's from an antique shop as a Christmas gift for a special Grandmother. Granny sits on a 4 7/8" (11.1mm) x 5 1/2" (14.0mm) wood base (probably teak) and she is 9" (22.7mm) tall (10 7/8" (27.6mm) tall including base), and is 4 3/4" (12.2mm) knees to chair back deep, and 4 1/4" (11.0mm) armrest to armrest wide. The figurine weighs 3.75lbs (1.7 kg). There seemed to be stickers on the bottom that are no longer there. She is actually quite beautiful, the pictures do not due her beauty justice.
