Black Snakeskin Purse

This is a great, textured faux snakeskin purse in excellent condition.. or is it faux? I believe it to be faux snakeskin, however, it could very well be the real thing. I do not know the age of this purse, but i might be well over 40 years old easily. There are four studs on the bottom of the purse, also snakeskin, which is 3" wide. It stands 7 1/4" tall to the bottom of the brass clasp, and measures 9" across the top and just 12" wide across at the bottom. The 3/4" wide flat strap - also snakeskin- is just under 13" long from brass 'D' ring to 'D' ring. The interior is of a very fine (I assume to be) black kid glove leather, with a zippered side pocket. The clasp shuts smartly and opens easily and there are the usual fingernail lines of a search or two (this IS a used piece), but other than that I have not found anything that takes away from this quietly elegent handbag.
