Retina I Model 148, circa 1941 with the f3.5 Kodak-Anastigmat Compur lens.
Retina was the name of a long-running series of German-built Kodak cameras. Retinas were manufactured in Stuttgart by Nagel Camerawerk, which Kodak had acquired in 1931, and sold under the Kodak nameplate. They were noted for their compact size, quality, and low cost compared to their competitors. Introduced in 1934,the Retina was notable for being the first camera to use the modern 135 film cartridge. The Retina line continued through the 1960s with a variety of folding and nonfolding models, including the Retina Reflex SLR. The Retina still retains a strong following even today. This camera seems to be in great shape still, the case has wear but is intact. No film has been through the camera in quite a few years; so it is sold as is. It would be a nice addition to a collection and it may just work perfectly.
The camera with case is 3 3/4" (9.5cm) tall, 5 1/2" (13.9cm) wide, 2 1/8" (5.4cm) thick, and weighs with case 21.2oz (601g).
