New York circa 1920, 4 1/2 by 6 inches, fine condition. We were initially a bit hesitant about this listing-- after all, here is Bruce Cherner Antique silver not a hand painted china emporium. What ultimately won me over was how this image evoked a very personal memory of seeing Bobby Short at the Café Carlyle, which unlike its cousin the Astor still thankfully exists. Those of you who'd like more information on the grand Hotel may consult the excellent posting at University of Virginia's a...

circa 1900, length 10.6, height 7.5 centimeters, mass 162.7 grams, .950 standard. If you're a
Brit, that's 4 inches long; 3 1/4 inches high; 5.23 Troy ounces.
We're not going to prattle on about how rare it is or how good it is, but you may rest assured that it's both. Aside from a small test mark on the underside (please see fourth photo) the condition is pretty much flawless.

length 7 5/8 inches, monogrammed "F.E. Dean", maker J.B. & Co (possibly Jones Ball & Co, Boston circa 1850). Most of the handles have the usual pinprick dents which one might expect in knives from this period; two have some larger dings which we've shown in photo number five. The blades are in fine condition.
length just shy of ten inches, superb condition, gilt tines, marked only "Black Starr & Frost STERLING" but probably by Dominick & Haff, monogrammed "PM" (script, reverse) perhaps in honor of the cocktail hour...

length 13 1/2 inches, weight 5 oz Troy, no monogram. Concerning condition, the handle is ever so slightly off vertical and there are some very minor dents in bowl (please see fourth photo). Both of these issues are difficult for my eye to detect, so I do not feel that they need to be addressed. The bust looks pretty much the way it did when this item left the factory in Providence some hundred forty odd years ago. Last but not least, feel free to use Google Product Search© and compare ...

Every now and then one finds a piece which captures the Zeitgeist of the late Victorian era. Length 1 by 1 1/4 inches excluding frame ends, two well modeled and finely cast birds applied to body, excellent condition, with registry mark only (please see third photo); year 1879.
